License Manager

What license do I have?

Whether you have a buy-once license or a lease license, your MatchID Dongle will only be valid for one year. You will have to update your dongle annually with a new license. This protocol is implemented to avoid abuse of lost or stolen dongles.

To check your current license on your dongle (not necessarily your purchased license):

  1. Make sure you have the latest License Manager installed.
  2. Connect the dongle you wish to update.
  3. Start the license manager
  4. A list is shown with your active licenses, together with the expiration date.

The list indicates the features/modules that can be activated in the software, grouped by category. To see your licenses for every module, check the “Show Details” flag.

“Licensed versions” list indicate which versions of the MatchID software you can use.

With a lease license or support contract you always have the latest version of matchID. If you do not have the latest license, please contact support@matchid.eu

Update your dongle license

To update your license:

  1. Make sure you have the latest License Manager installed. Please make sure that all old version are uninstalled.
  2. Connect the dongle you wish to update.
  3. Start the license manager and click “Online Dongle Update”
  4. You should get the message “Up[date File Uploaded”. If not, please contact support@matchid.eu
  5. Once the request is received by MatchID, it will be processed and the support team will contact you when your update is available. After receiving this confirmation of our team just start the license manager again (with the same dongle connected to your PC) and “Online Dongle Update” again to install the update. You should get the message “License Installed”.

Offline Mode:

When your FireWall blocks the license manager from downloading/uploading license information, your dongle cannot be updated. License Manager 2017.2 and higher have an offline mode available.

To use the offline mode, follow the instructions:

  1. Install the latest version of the License Manager (2018.2).
  2. Your update files will be uploaded to your personal folder on the website.
  3. Download your V2C files from this site and store them locally.
  4. Launch the offline mode using the Command window and use the following instructions:
> cd $path_Folder_Licensemanager
> LicenseManager.exe -offline

You will see a heavily trimmed down version of the manager. This allows you to get dongle data (a *.C2V file which you need to send to us) and update your dongle using a file we provide you (a *.V2C file, based on the dongle data file we received from you).

To request an offline update:

  1. Make sure you have the latest License Manager installed.
  2. Connect the dongle you wish to update.
  3. Start the license manager in offline mode and click “Get Dongle Data”.
  4. Store the dongle data file (C2V) and send it to support@matchidmbc.be.

We will then provide you with the data file that will help update your dongle.

To install an offline update:

  1. Download the license files provided by MatchID.
  2. Connect the dongle you wish to update.
  3. Start the license manager in offline mode and click “Update Dongle”.
  4. Select the dongle update files you downloaded before.
  5. You should receive a message: “License installed successfully”
